I just bought a new set of NC400 TWS from AKG because everyplace raved about how great they sound.. perhaps mine are defective but they totally sound like crap. even with eq bass maxed ..( I'm not even a basshead.. i listen mostly to rock . they sound like dollar store headphones . and the anc does absolutely nothing did I get duped?

no bass , very tinny, and not very loud, playing from note 8 and from PC. any ideas?

I would first get a real hearing test and see if you have any frequency ranges where your hearing is deficient. The Harman headphone curve that shows the frequency response for numerous models of headphones can help you see which ones match your hearing loss, if you have any. I own the closed back K271s, the open back models: K701's and the new to me K612's. I

I have a pair of Beyer DT 770's that are low impedance, and they are not a good match for my HF hearing loss.
