Vista minus Hyperterminal

Found out the hard way that Vista does not come with Hyperterminal.
Fortunately I also found out that Putty supports Com ports very well.
If you recently bought a new laptop with Vista and think you might need Hyperterminal then you should have a look at Putty.

    The version of Hyperterminal packaged with Windows was always a piece of junk anyway. I have always used the purchased version from Hilgraeve. It is far, far better.
