Anyone know if it's supposed to work with the HR23? I'm getting feedback from the unit, but can't control it.

    I have had so much heart ache with RS-232 control of DirecTV stuff over the years that I will never go back. I'm IR all the way with the damnable things.

    A lot depends upon which receiver unit you're dealing with.

    So far I've been 2 for 2 with the RS-232 AMX module: one was an HR21 and the other was an HR21Pro; I've not had to use it with an HR23 so . . . didn't know if they did something different.

    I can get feedback from it . . . just no control.

    Ok . . . well - I feel like a dummy! Send a REINIT command and all is fixed.
