i have a zone pro 1261 that everytime i try to change ip address it reverts to 0.0.0.0

im using a wireless router so no crossover cable required as I understand it changes momentarily as is updating but then reverts to 0.0.0.0

A wireless router may not work, I've only been able to get the IP address to change on an unmanaged switch, never a router, without a crossover cable.
