C414 Shockmount repairs

Hello all,
We have a number of C414 mics in our locker. Nearly all of our shock mounts have failed in one of two places:

  • The small strips of rubber on the clamps that hold the mic in place break and fall off.
  • The threads that connect to the stand strip very easily.
Does anyone have good suggestions for this? For one, I'd LOVE to find a source for the brass inserts that other manufacturers use in their clips for the stand threads. I'd also love to see AKG start using those, as the MD421 clips tend to strip in the same way.

Open to all ideas besides replacing these expensive shock mounts every time the smallest parts fail on them.
Thanks!
