Novice with some basic questions - Request help

All,
Apologies in advance if these questions are quite basic. BoughtUi24R for my better half and I am trying to set it up for her. She is a vocal music teacher and typically records songs for her students as they go through the course. We are trying to set up a proper recording unit.

I started the unit and trying a basic test (mic in on channel 3 with mixer output to a stage speaker (JBL 515XT). But I don't hear anything. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? Do I need to open the U/I and click on something to start the recording?

    This may be better handled through phone tech support or by joining the Facebook Ui24R user group. There's a lot of things missing in your question. I would suggest referencing the owners manual Section 9.0 first and come back with more specific questions.     In short though- Yes you need to use the Ui GUI to initiate the recording to a USB Stick.
