Dante remote preamp control

I am running a Si Performer 2 and a mini stagebox16, both with Dante option cards. I was counting on the remote preamp control to work but I only have a trim control. Does anyone know if it's possible to get this working?

I would love it if that configuration worked, but what I have heard from everyone for a long time is that MADI cards are required for gain control. If they just had that feature, it would some so many problems for me...
