Using C5900 for web meetings and podcasts?

Hi -- I have a discontinued C5900 handheld vocal mic that I'm thinking of using for virtual classrooms and podcasting. I've noticed that a lot of folks recommend a dynamic mic rather than a condenser mic for these applications because they tend to reject background noise better. However, it also seems that condenser mics tend to have richer vocal quality. Do you think the C5900 is ill-suited for this application?
Assuming that the C5900 will work well, I plan to attach it to a boom arm and I'm wondering if the internal shock mount is sufficient. If not, can you recommend a good external shock mount for that application?
Thanks!!
