Microphone Issue

My AKG 600 YC Bluetooth headphones show as Headphones in System > Sound Output and as a headset in System > Sound Input but when I plug in a mic both disappear and I cannot connect with the microphone plugged in. If I remove the microphone the headphones and headset reconnect. If I then remove the device, plug in the microphone, and let Windows 11 try to discover the device, the device never connects. I once let it run for 30 minutes but the device never connected with the microphone plugged in. If I remove the microphone, the device immediately is recognized. How do I correct this?
