Anyone able to get G5 HTTP firmware over to work?

It never works for me from within the Netlinx firmware update form. The Legacy way still works (slowly).

I set up a webserver and ran

g5:webu url-of-firmware.kit

It downloads the firmware but fails on installing.

    I'm not sure why you're seeing a firmware update failure. I'd suggest trying the USB method and see if that can get it onto the device. What version are you going from/to?

    I'm remoted in to a laptop at the site. Can't try USB.

    I re-uploaded the kit to the remote laptop and the webserver method has worked on a couple panels now. Must have had an incomplete upload up there the first time.
