DGX3200 Ethernet pass-through to Canon WUX6600Z

Has anyone had any luck with Ethernet pass through from Enova DGX units to Canon projectors? We're reliant on IP control for these projectors but they have a combined LAN/HDBaseT port and so far I've had no luck getting comms to pass through.

In our case we're using a DGX32 chassis upgraded to a 3200 through a CPU upgrade.

Am I missing something obvious? Any knowledge would be appreciated!

the DGX never was and still is not officially HDBT compliant. It may work partially (AV mostly works), but Ethernet gets blocked if the endpoint of the DXLink is no DXLink device. There is a way do modify the DGX boot script, to enable Ethernet passthru, but can't remember how in detail.

  • Thanks for the response, Marc. That's a shame, we might have to explore other options for control then unless you have any pointers for figuring out how to modify the DGX boot script?

I found the email correspondence to TS about this. As it contains also some other stuff, I will check for the essentials needed, test them and then will post.

  • That'd be great, I had a look for info on how to do this but didn't have much luck!

    Hi,

I think you should Ensure that the Ethernet pass through settings are correctly configured in both the Enova DGX and the Canon projector. Verify that the HDBaseT ports are properly set to pass Ethernet data and check the network settings on both devices to ensure they are on the same subnet and properly configured for IP control. If issues persist consult the manuals or support for specific configurations required for HDBaseT Ethernet pass through.

    Thanks

@sellynamass Like said above, the DGX will block Ethernet passthru to non DXLink Devices by default. This can be changed by modifying the boot script of the DGX, but may have dependencies to the switcher firmware. Because of this, I don't post the insctructions to public.

KijiHighstar got them from me, but we found he uses a different firmware on the DGX like the inscructions required, and so didn't work.

Like said, the DGX officially never was and is HDBT compliant.

Marc, it could be that you're talking to an AI doing some training posts... The post seems 'off'?
