No AMX DXLINK-RX device detected in system tree

Hello everyone,

I have a faulty AMX DXLINK-HDMI-RX device that has become faulty.
I have plenty of spare units. When i connect the spare unit, it powers on fine however is not detected within the system device tree when connecting to the master controller via Netlinx Studio 4.

I have tried holding down the ID button on the DXLINK and performing a factory reset which also caused it to not display.
I have tried 3 seperate units and all do the same thing (not detected as a device in the device tree to then configure), so im wondering if im doing something silly?

  • Just to make sure regarding the factory reset of the RX:

    • unplug power (DXLink)
    • press and hold the ID button
    • repower while still holding the ID button
    • hold on the ID button. The unit after a while will begin to flash with the LEDs in a 1-second interval for about 10 seconds, then flashing goes faster.
    • at this point with the faster flashing, release the ID button, the RX reboots and is back on factory settings

Next to check is if Ethernet is activated on the DXLink outputs. This can be done by the webinterface, but because this is Flash based, you may no longer be able to open it... If not already done, I would recommend to load the html5 alternative onto the unit.

On the system page, check if Ethernet is set to "auto".

  • I have followed the instructions and able to FTP the file onto the controller perfectly fine. I can then connect to the unit via web interface and see the option to select the HTML5 webpage, however when i click it it just gives me 'Error 403: Forbidden'.

I have tried different web applications as well as incognito with no luck :(

  • I dont have an NI master on hand, so I can not directly check.

on the main webinterface of the DVX, can you go into "security" or "system"? If it is also saying Forbidden, and/or asking for login, then the webserver's security is activated. The security can be set that you may get access to the main page, but anything else is only allowed by password.

For the internal pages (security, system) it may automatically ask for login.
For custom pages, like the HTML5 UI of the DVX, you may have to login in advance, otherwise you are only guest any may have no access to anything more than the main page. If i remember correctly, there is a Login Button beside the AMX logo on the webpage.
