Chrome Cast with Google TV, Nvidia Shield direct IP Control

Dear All,

Has someone implemented direct IP control for these devices? I could see over the internet people controlling it using ADB (Android Debug Bridge) for other systems.

I'm also in search for this, for private use, but haven't found any practicable solution yet.

I'm thinking about using a Roku Streaming unit, as these units have a regular API:
