RC5 codes

Hi every body

I tried to built a rc file with RC5 codes. Unfortunately, the program told me as the format is not supportted.

I looked in different thread as i have to convert it in IR file. Somebody have a trick to do that ? ( except Irris unit )

I have tried unsuccessfully to import ir files in IREdit using the discreet IR hex code functions. I am suspicious that it just doesn't work.

I have found a very useful program to convert files from the opposition into *.irl files called vert.exe. Apparently there is another program caled irpro which is good too but I've never used it. You can find vert in yahoo groups in the files section of a well known AV control system manufacturer. I don't dare to supply the direct link.

Get vert and the oppositions software and you instantly have another 700 or so ir files to play with.

I have successfully used the oppositions software to import discreet hex codes, so you could probably try importing the discreet codes into deal and then converting them to a *.irl file.

I have seen a cheap USB ir learner which comes with a program the talks to the IREdit API at:

I haven't tried it though but it looks promising.

I do however think that it is critical that any serious AV control programmer purchases an AXB-IRS. I also find a pronto useful to get the discreet hex codes.

It works just fine using Pronto hex codes or RTI hex codes. To extract Pronto Hex codes I use a free program called ProtoEdit which can be found here:

Another handy free IR tool is a tiny standalone app (no install necessary) called IRLite. If you have an IRL file and you need to know the channel codes, just drag and drop the IRL file into IRLite and you?ll get a listing of each IR command, the channel code, and the Pronto hex code. IRLite is WAY faster and easier than launching IREdit if you just need to see what?s in an IRL file. You can find IRLite here:

I'm still doing it the hard way. I load up my RC5400 and capture them with my Iris.
