There seems to be an interface from commtec available, can someone explain what hardware is needed for controlling DALI systems? (Marc?)

i understand that dali is a bus system, does this mean that the dali interface is connected somewhere in the chain (or at the beginning)?.
and how do you address different lighting zones in the software?

First of all, thank you Leon for helping out I was on vacation last week, so sorry for my late response to that thread.

I'm not too deep into DALI, but in general is a bus system, which has a bus master (in our case the CTG-DALI) and upto 64 control addresses. Some small configuration must be done to define what actuator has what address, but it's much less than i.e. EIB.

Find attached the datasheet of our gateway. (The English webpages are still under construction). You need 1 serial port.

The NetLinx software, the configuration tool and and the manuals are still German, I'll ask the developer of the module if the English manuals are available.
