Optoma H56a 232

Hello, I'm Trying to control a H56a using the 232 port, the people from optoma said that the protocol is the same, but I'm not able to power on, if I switch it on manually every commands works fine except the power on.

Any idea.

thanks.

  • I just had the exact same problem with a projector.
Turned out the device I was working with needed to steal power
from the NI **only when it was turned off**. So, the
effect was that with a 3 wire cable (RX, TX, GND) everything
worked except the 'power on' command. When I used a 5 wire cable (added RTS and CTS) the power on command started working.

The other thing I've seen with projectors is a menu setting for
power saving or something similar, which if not set properly disables the control port.

    Hope that helps.

Hi, finailly I found a way to control it.

To power on set thge baud to 9600 and send "'OKOKOKOKOK',10,13"

The rest of the commands at 57600.

    And now it's working.

Good thing you're not programming on that C
platform, eh? (No baud rate change after compilation)

  • What do you mean?
If before send the power on command I set the baudrate to 9600 it's works perefect and after that I setup the baudrate to 57600.
