NetLinx Studio 2.5 - problem opening AXS and AXI

Hi community,

after I have installed Studio 2.5 I can't open AXS and AXI files any longer by doubleclick in the windows explorer, but only one time after the installation.

After reinstalling Studio 2.4 Build 129 this works fine again.

Anyone has this problem?

    Netlinx Studio 2.5

I've had the same problem. Only solution is to load up your AXS file from the file menu............

I have had this same problem, to fix it I went into file types in XP find the axs file extension and when you choose which application you want associated with it, you will see two Netlinx Studio Icons, you then have to choose the bottom one and then it will work. I think Studio 2.5 has some very odd bugs in it.

When you go to File, Open and the dialogue box opens, can you click inside the "File Name" box ? Mine shows a white rectangle that you can't type in

Same here..... also if using File -> Open Workspace

Studio 2.5 has also a confirmed problem with uploading AXcess source:

I don't have two registrations of studio to AXS filetype. But I think I'll do some testing in this direction.

IMHO it would be the best to downgrade to Studio 2.4 b129 at the moment....
Unfortunately it isn't on the AMX homepage any longer, but if you need to download, you still can get it from our homepage:

Believe it or not the Axcess source bug bit me in the *** today while at a customers site. I wish AMX would release an upgraded version already... I hate buggy software. Just like the buggy VA.

VA isn't so much buggy as incomplete. But I have yet to see any kind of sophisticated software that disn't have some number of bugs. I'm more concerned about the speed of the subsequent fixes.

I must admit though, I am a bit chagrined when things crop up that weren't broken before, and I can't imagine why they messed with it in the first place - like the file open dialog issue I mentioned in another thread. Or when something very basic like file associations gets messed up.

I agree that VA doesn't have a lot of bugs, but it does have an install error with the microsoft SQL Server that just kind of "fixes itself"
