NS2 Build 163 Autosave

Anyone noticed an issue with autosave?????

When Studio auto saves your code, it randomly jumps you to somewhere other than the line you were working on???

Bit of a pain in the ***!

I haven't noticed this. Are you sure it's not just putting the view back to where your cursor is? If your work style is such that you scroll around your files a lot without moving the cursor, it might look more random to you than it actually is. Not to say that's suitable behavior (the viewport should stay the same, period), but it might help track it down.

We also found this, but with manually save. It randomly happens if the cursor is "in the first 4-5 screen pages" (we haven't found an exact line number range...) and you do a save, then the cursor jumps to about line 4....

    It's reported to AMX.

Though I had posted before that I never saw this problem, I have to update that with a, "yeah, it happens to me too." Marc's observation explains it. It's a very annoying problem. I've lost work too often from random weird glitches to depend on manual saves.

More than a bit of a pain, it?s been driving me bonkers. It?s not just autosave, it?s any kind of save. And if you have a large file with folded code it not only jumps the screen around but it will also unfold code.
BUG FIX - Editor, Save with "Automatically Stamp File with Creation and Last Modified Date" turned on was causing a compiler problem.
I don?t know what the above quoted BUG FIX is supposed to have fixed but it appears to have caused the problems we?ve been encountering. I decided to try and turn off the "Automatically Stamp File with Creation and Last Modified Date" option and found that the save problem disappears.

Hopefully this bug fix will get fixed in the next release. Until then, turn off the auto stamp option and life will be good.
