Pioneer DV-563A DVD-Audio playback problem

I use a Pioneer DV-563A as my home DVD player... It is a multi-format player (SACD, DVD-Audio, etc) I recently encountered a problem where the unit would not play the audio portion of several recent DVD-Audio titles. Especially but not exclusively titles on the new DualDisc format. (eg. the new Talking Heads 5.1 album reissues on DualDisc, or the Flaming Lips "The Soft Bulletin" 5.1 version). These titles would appear to play, but no audio was actually produced. After digging around I finally found a firmware upgrade ISO image that resolved the problem for me. You have to burn the ISO file as a disc image onto a blank CDROM. This is not the same as just copying the file onto a blank disc. After you create the disc from the image, simply insert it into the player. It automatically upgrades the firmware, displaying its progress on the LCD display of the unit. When it finishes it auto-ejects the disc. Immediately afterward, the unit had no problem playing any of the titles that previously failed. But as it was a firmware upgrade, the basic unit setup menu options had to be done again. The original settings were lost.
I have tried to attach the zip file to this post but the attachment is not working. The file is under 3 MB in size, so if anyone wants it, send me an email to
