Hello all,
As you may or may not know, the yamaha 01v digital mixer has upgraded a to a new product called the 01v96 (96Khz sampling). Unfortunately yamaha also decided to drop the rs232 interface in favour of a USB connector.
Does anyone have experience in controlling the new mixer (maybe by some sort of USB-serial converter) or is MIDI the only way to go now?
And if so does anyone know of a good microphone/line mixer (at least 14 inputs) with fader automation and preset functionality which can be controlled by Netlinx?
Thanx !

We have encounter the problem in France and have found a solution. We use a RS232 port to control the 01V96 on the midi port. You have to wire the cable as explain below :
Midi RS232
Pin 4 >> TX - Pin 3 - With a 150 ohms resistence
Pin 5 >> Ground Pin 5
Pin 2 >> Non Connected
You have to do a SET BAUD 31250,N,8,1 on the RS232 port.
In this manier you can control the 01V96 as you do with old model.
WARNING : This is a one ways communication and just function with NI master (not with COM2 or NXI) due to the fact that you can set the port to 31250 speed on this equipment
