Port status - NS2 vs. telnet

Does anyone know why I would see different results for device status when I use Netlinx Studio (v2.5.163) vs. telnet? I’m checking the status of port 17 of an NI-4000 (I/O)
Doing a port status via the online tree with NS2 I get the following report:
Checking Port Status for [5001:17:400]
No Feedback Channels on for [5001:17:400]
No Input Channels on for [5001:17:400]
No Output Channels on for [5001:17:400]
No Level Status for [5001:17:400]
End of Port Status for [5001:17:400]
When I telnet in and do device status I get this:
>device status 5001:17:400
Device 5001 AMX Corp.,NI-4000,v1.00.118 contains 17 Ports.
Port 17 - Channels:256 Levels:8
MaxStringLen=64 Types=8 bit MaxCommandLen=64 Types=8 bit
The following input channels are on:2
The following output channels are on:2
The following feedback channels are on:2
Level 1=0 Supported data types=UByte,UInt
Level 2=0 Supported data types=UByte,UInt
Level 3=0 Supported data types=UByte,UInt
Level 4=0 Supported data types=UByte,UInt
Level 5=0 Supported data types=UByte,UInt
Level 6=0 Supported data types=UByte,UInt
Level 7=0 Supported data types=UByte,UInt
Level 8=0 Supported data types=UByte,UInt

So Netlinx Studio tells me that no input channels are on but telnet tells me that input channel 2 is on. I believe telnet is correct but I can’t be sure since I’m checking this from a remote location. I've tried this several times and I get the same results each time.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
Edit: Bolded conflicting status
