I Schedule Timer Servers and Settings

Greetings,

Culd someone please recommend a time server and protocol setting for I schedule? I have had mixed results using the built-in list.

I generally don't change the protocol from the default, and do not select a timeserver - let it use its internal list. I have yet to have it not work.

When setup at default, the message log does show some connection errors. Am I to assume they are normal as the system tries to select a server from its internal list?

You may be having a DNS issue. Check an make sure the DNS entries for the master are correct.

Sometimes. Not all servers are available at all times, so it runs through a list.

I agree with Vining that you need to make sure the DNS is connecting properly, but you also have to make sure your network isn't blocking the port. This is common on a lot of firewalls because some consider the port a security risk. I know that my NT Server firewall shut it down by default, and I had to open it up.
