DirecTV H20 IR Files

Greetings,
Could someone explain why IR files for this receiver only put out a quick IR blast regardless of how long the channel in the transmitting device is held on?
I have tried downloaded files as well as ones I have captured myself. They are being blasted from an Axcent 3 controlled by an NI-3000.
It seems that the H20 sometimes misses a command and I'm suspecting that it is because the duration of the IR pulse is too short.
Thanks.

Thanks! Great tip, well worth the cost of admission! I will try this week.
Agreed...emitter must not be right on top of sensor--it's too sensitive. I also found improvement by setting CTON to 1. Strange but true. If you have a chance to switch, Serial control of the H20 works great through the USB port...see other threads in the forum for details.
