Quick question Re NXC and PhastLink

Hey guys,

I have a couple of PhastLink devices (a few PLB-RFs and a PLB-AS8) that I want to hook up to my NXC-ME. I am aware of the netlinx modules for these devices, but I want do confirm that I can just daisy chain these units off of the ICSNet connector on the NXC and that I do not need to buy any sort of hub. Is this the case?

Thanks!
Dan

    Yep definitively, as these are some devices and not some hubs ;)

    One note on daisy chaining. (is this a word?)

    It's a very good idea to make sure and properly terminate the phast-link/ICSNet line at the end of the chain. AMX sells the little RJ-45 doohickeys or you can search the tech notes for how to make a home made version. It involves putting a couple resistors in a RJ-45 termination. I have a bunch of them in the pen holder on my desk.

    If you don't terminate the chain, you might find that devices on the chain start dropping off the device list periodically. You have to unplug and reconnect the device if that happens.

    Thanks - I've read about the terminator and I plan on making one. So I could do:

    NXC -> PLB-AS8 -> PLB-FM -> PLB-FM

    And be ok? No need for a "hub" of any sort?

    Thanks,
    Dan
