Russound SMS3 & Old DM's

Does anyone have any experience using the Russound SMS3 with the previous generation of DMS's in a NetLinx system? If so, how well did it work. I have a client with some DMS's that he loves but wants to be able to search music music from it, open to other suggestions as well.
