If you have an STR-DAx200ES receiver, send this to it:
$02,$03,$A0,$62,$01,$FA
That will put in "Broadcast Mode" where all front panel and IR remote changes will be reported out the serial port! It will stay in this mode until you power off the receiver.
I know of no other consumer reciever that can be this automation friendly!
