Netlinx Studio in Linux

I did a search on the forums for Linux, got a lot of hits, have scanned through lots of them, but not really had my question answered. Is there a version of Netlinx Studio and TPD4 available for Linux? My assumption is that I am going to have to use the Windows versions and do some fancy Linux tricks to get them working. Probably over my head, but something that would be fun pursuing. Before I take on that task, my first question would be to anyone that is running Linux and AMX software, are there any "gotcha's" I need to look out for? Any weird side effects from running AMX software on a Linux OS? Is it even possible or am I just spinning my wheels?

There are definitely no TPDesign or Studio Versions for Linux.
A thing that could work is Emacs with the Axcess syntax highlighting. And for compiling and transferring FileTransfer.exe with Wine or similar and the command-line compiler.
I would use a Virtual Machine program, and run Windows inside the Virtual Machine if you have to use Linux. VMware is the best.
Yep you have some virtualisation software that runs under linux such as Wine or Parallels that allows you to run windows on Linux, and then run windows applications on Linux It works well, I used that solution during years before I switched to Mac
For the fun side, it's nice to know masters use a unix system (vxworks) and Modero uses Linux but all programming software are running only on Windows lol

surely better than the other way !!!
It will run, but transfer and compiling fails.
Hope someone was able to do that. I hate starting windows to change the program of my master.
Simply say Sucks, why ?
Oh you want something free????? Still believe wine is crap, different word then sucks!!!!!
I think I found something that may solve the problem CrossOver Linux from CodeWeavers
Standard Version : 40USD
Professional Version : 70USD
I didn't try it yet, as I don't have enough courage to migrate to Linux, and one of the main reasons is NetLinx isn't supported over Linux, I hope it will work.

Yes I would prefer to pay nothing to use my free of charge programming software :-)
It is only for my private use, nothing comercial.
Our IT fear to use linux in any way, and I can not understand why ;-)
NetLinx Studio V2 runs fine using wine, but compile and file transfer does not work.
I do not think it is crap. It is a different way they make it. Not a simulation, but a similar windows environment. Good Idear, and if the software works, it runs well...
But no more discussion on that, to off topic.
So if anyone get NetLinx Studio running under linux, please let me know how.
