Samsung LNT3242HX & RS232

Hi All...
Does someone have any experience with a Samsung LNT3242HX LCD TV? We have to replace an existing 32" plasma that lost it's RS232 brains in a lighting storm. Since it is 5 years old, we're considering just changing it out versus the $$$ to repair, with no guarantee of other damage elsewhere.
No offence inteneded but trying to deal with consumer level technical support and asking if they have the RS232 protocol for the unit is, ahem, a challenge.
The TV has an RS232 port, and they have some sort of multi display control software that uses said port, so one would expect...
Any input?
Cheers!
