Fixed volume on autopatch

Is there a way via the autopatch module or outside the module to set a fixed (static) output volume? I see something called a config_value in the module, but I am unclear on how to use it. I tried to set the volume 30 sec after the online event by using status.volume[5] = 235, it somehow manages to change on its own or does not stay at this volume.
Any help would be appreciated.
