    No difference.
  • There is a visible difference between MVP-8400 1st (s/n 596502...) and 2nd generation (596504... 596505...) MVP-840(i)

On the 1st generation, the small hole for the microphone is on the right side of the display (between the housing and the inner grey cover). Similar to the MVP-7500.

There is no difference except the serial number between MVP8400 2nd gen and 8400i.

Are you kidding? Look, one's product name has a lowercase i at one end. That alone guarantees an extra billion flying off the shelf.

    Marc
I see a small hole on the 8400i NOT on the 8400.
  • find attached an Imgae with both versions. (turn image 90 degrees counterclock, Sorry, no more time to edit the image...)

The upper one is the newer version FG596505 MVP8400, or FG596504 MVP8400i. It has the mic hole (bad to see) on the top left edge of the display.

The lower one is the "old" FG596502 MVP8400. It has the Mic hole on the right side of the display, near the cursor buttons.
