MVP-WDS wall docking station issues

Recently, I have been experiencing docking/undocking issues with
the MVP wall docking stations for the MVP-8400 panels.

I am having intermittant instances where the panel will
not display the "panel docked" status when the panel is
inserted into the station.

I am having other issues when trying to undock the panels.
The password keypad may or may not popup depending
on its mood. I only have one user and password in the panel.

I am having issues with both systems that have been
installed for 2-3 years, and some still on my bench
being built.

Just today, I had a dark panel (docked of course) that
would not wakeup or undock. Fortunately I was able
to get the panel out of the station just in time for a board
meeting at noon.

I dont know if there are firmware issues, docking contacts, etc.

I wonder if anyone else has experienced anything similar.

Thanks.

I've had similar issues pop up from time to time, but not regularly. More often than not, the contacts on the MVP or in the doc itself got a little cruddy and weren't making good contact; wiping them down resolved it. Another thing I have seen is the client not inserting the stylus properly, which keeps the dock from closing all the way; usually when that happens, it jams completely and you have to power down the dock. My guess in your case is the dirty contacts thing, or perhaps a faulty panel. Once I had a panel where the contact array was not aligned properly inside the panel itself, so it sometimes made the connections, but most times did not; that one I sent back to AMX.
