walkie-talkie (two way radio)

I am looking for a good choice of walkie-talkies for AMX installation crew. "Good" means minimum IP54 protection class, range up to 5 km (? - I assume the power is enough to talk in multifloor building?). So far I have the following list:

1. Motorola XTNi/XTNiD, IP55, weight 270g, 8km range (open sight).

2. TTI TX-1446, IP54, weight N/A.

3. Kenwood TK3201, IP54/55, weight 280g, 5km range (open sight).

We operate in Europe, so it should be license-free PMR446 band.

Anyone has suggestions and recommendations? Thank you in advance.

We just use the cheap Motorolas you can find in any home center (like Home Depot). They are more than adequate for close range (ie., in the same house), and it's not a major disaster if a guy drops one off a ladder, or in a pool, or just plain forgets it on the job, etc.

Ah, another good point. Thanks, did not consider it from that side...

I have a pair of Cobra MiroTALKs that I carry in my laptop bag. They are great and have good range. I think they cost me $30.

I also have a proposal on Topcom TwinTalker 6800. Anyone has experience with Topcom, unfortunately I have not heard of the brand before?
