Double OT: iPhone Thoughts

Took the plunge and bought an iPhone this weekend. I haven't totally made up my mind about it yet. I have had an iPod Touch every since they first came out and I really love it. I figured an iPhone would be a natural upgrade. There are a couple of things about it that bother me though. First, the mandatory $30 a month Data plan. Second, the iPhone is the only phone in AT&T's inventory that insurance can't be purchased for. Third, customer reviews for the iPhone can't be added to AT&T's website like what can be done for all of the other phones. I did some searching on the internet and sites like CNET and Engadget give the 3G iPhone, on average, 3.5 out of 5. Not very high considering the price. However, the iPod Touch also scores about the same, and I really like the Touch. I never leave home without it. To me, the biggest plus for the iPhone, instead of having to keep up with a cell phone and an iPod, now I have them merged into one gadget.
Have any of you guys bought or played with an iPhone? What are your thoughts?

Other than apps, service is great. With the latest software update, dropped calls are few and far between. I get better range than my previous phone. Also, remember to connect to WiFi when available. This will extend battery life by not using 3G. Battery life is not that much of an issue with me since I almost always have a laptop nearby with an open USB port.
A more business related plus, I can surf the net from the field. Any web enabled phone can do that, but this is the first phone I have ever had with a data plan purchased. I can already see the benefits of that. That means no matter where I am in the US, I can always have access to porn. Did I say that out loud? By "porn", of course, I mean "work related" surfing.
A con, even though I always used to have my iPod attached to my head, now that I have an iPhone, I think it feels like something for a teenager. It's growing on me though. I have 30 days to make up my mind, but right now I am leaning towards keeping it.
