DirecTV serial MT commands

Has anyone serial controlled a DirecTV box with the new multi-tuner protocol commands? For DirecTV boxes with more than one tuner they've added commands
GetTuner
GetPrimaryStatusMT
GetCurrentChannelMT
etc.
My question is how do you know which tuner is currently active (being viewed)? I assume the "inactive" tuner would still report being tuned to a station, or does it return "Failure"? When you command a specific tuner to a channel, does that tuner become active (shown)?
I've read through the protocol manual but could not find answers to these questions. It says if you use the old commands (GetCurrentChannel) that it always returns info for tuner 1.
DirecTV Serial Protocol v2.2
GetTuner
GetPrimaryStatusMT
GetCurrentChannelMT
etc.
