AXT-MCP TP Help

I was sent out to a project with our service tech. to try and reload code into an old Axlink Touch Panel (AXT-MCP) that just got repaired back from AMX. The problem is that the code that I needed to receive from the Netlinx Master controller was non-existing. The person who programmed this system back in 2003 (I was not with the company till 2006) did not have the "Build with Source" option selected in the Settings..Preferences..NetLinx Compiler Tab. looks like the programming has to be redone by scratch?

This system is a 2 room divisible room with 1 AXT-MCP touch panel in each room (#203 and #204). The touch panel in #204 has programming in it and is working fine(ability to combined rooms and uncombined). In #203 we need to some how copy the code into that touch panel as it is not functioning. Is there a work around to resolve this other than going the long route of rewriting the program? I have never worked with the older Axlink AXT-MCP Touch Panels. It looks like it uses TPDesign3?

    source code

You shouldnt need the master processor's code to extract or re-load a touch panel.

These models can usually be easily loaded via TPDesign3.
  • Thank you for your input. I am going to go back out there again this Wednesday with a Senior Programmer to show me how it is done. I will need to download TPDesign3. What are the differences from TPD3 in comparison to TPD4? Is it only the GUI look?

    hooboy...

TPD3 worked with the family of touch panels before the Moderos. It's a much more proto program. One of its more annoying lack of features is there is no 'undo' Also, it is common for a button to move over a pixel or two when you select it.
