RS232 controllable Wirelss Mic Receivers

I've been looking around for a wireless mic receiver that can report back the battery life of the wireless mic over rs232. Does anyone know if such a wireless mic receiver exists and if so does anyone have the manufacturer, model, and rs232 commands for it?

So far I've found a Sabine SWM7000 that looks like it might have the features I need but I can't find the rs232 commands to confirm it.

Thanks

Erik

  • I'm sure the Sennheiser higher end models do, I'd need to check the model no...

The Shure UR series has ethernet connectivity with their program which does have battery feedback on it. I am sure you can either contact them and get the protocol or you could just use wireshark and look through the packets.. But I would not recommend basing a microphone recommendation to a client on if it has RS232 control on it..

The Sennheisers have ethernet connectivity as well.. Don't know much about them though.

  • The Lectrosonics venue is a multi-reciever wireless mic system and offers RS-232 control.

Alas I'm not in control of what is selected, I was just assigned to track down possible devices that match the requirements. Thank you all very much for the leads. I was checking out the Shure, Sabine, and Sennheiser and I can't find the commands for any of them on their site.
