True that. My entire home system was bought on Ebay, even though I am an AMX dealer. A lot of times, when a company closes or a property changes hands, the control equipment winds up there for very cheap ... the new owner often hasn't a clue what to do with it, and is happy to get rid of it. It doesn't usually even matter to me if it's broken - the bargain plus an AMX repair rate is usually still cheaper than buying new, even at cost.

I wouldn't buy used for resale though, unless it was a discontinued model I couldn't get any other way. My own use, or for a friend or relative, that's another story.

I tried finding fiber transcievers a few years back, but was unsucessful. I ended up getting ethernet transcievers, putting an NI-700 at the far end and using master-2-master to control the AXlink devices attached to it. Worked like a champ.
