European Question: Scart WSS Pin Detection

Has anyone here managed to wire a Pin 8 of a scart into an AMX IO port for detection of 16:9 on Set Top Boxes?
I have wired Pin8 and Ground of the Scart and I do get the expected voltage (12V for 4:3 and 5V for 16:9) but I'm not an electronics person and I dont know what sort of circuit is required to put these voltages into AMX logic (Eg. 0-1.5V for Wide Screen and 3.5V+ for 4:3). Any suggestions?
