No sound out of 2 5200i's during intercom

I copied the strings from the manual
The sound on both TPs goes off (no bloop on button presses), but the intercomming isn't working. I can't hear anything from one TP's mic out of the other's speaker. Is there something else I have to do? I'm just trying to get them to talk for now as simply as possible.
Example of setting up a handsfree unicast call between two panels:
send_command TP1, "^ICS-192.168.0.3,9000,9002,2"
send_command TP2, "^ICS-192.168.0.4,9002,9000,2
