Has anyone integrated with CAN bus networks?

I have the protocol and details of the Serial - CAN bus interface from the manufacturer in question, but just looking to see if anyone has travelled this road before...

    Would that be the CAN bus inside Mercedes vehicles?

    Actually its AirCon on a Yacht, but yes CAN bus is used extensively in automotive sectors I believe.
