RMS using open source backbone

I was wondering if there is any plans in the works for the future for releasing a version of RMS to work on Linux, MySQL, Postgre, or any other open platforms?

    RMS originally supported MySQL but was dropped as the platform was so inferior it was limiting functionality provided by MS SQL Server. There were very few, if any users. Linux may be a future consideration.
