Voting Software

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has experience with the NSS Voting software? I have 8 of the Mio keypads and a NI3100 to get up and running soon. Wanted to get a jump start on it. I took the online tutorial, but it didn't really ellude to how things happen. Who can help...Thanks in advance for you time...

I haven't had any experience with the NSS-VOTE software, but is there a more specific question you have? Maybe I can help.

Does the software ship with some sort of sample code that might help you get things moving?

  • Jeff,

thanks for the potential help. Unfortunately no, the voting software is a module that i am supposed to use, so i guess in reality, yes. However, my questions are numerous simply from experience or lack there of. I don't typically use modules, i write it up on my own. Anyways, i have a cv7 touchpanel for a voting administrators console and 8 mio dsp for the actual voting panels. Apperently, the mio panels are "supposed to work" with extensive programming and the cv7 is not even listed as being acceptable for the voting admin console. So I guess to start, how do I integrate the module into my already existing code? Where do I define the touchpanels that will be used? In both the module and in my program? Of course the boss says, make it work...lol I don't know where to start.
  • Well, I'm in the middle of the install....looks like the referneced nongraphical voting panels are now discontinued. That's what happens i suppose when the software was dated back in 2002. Good things happened because of this though, the customer will now have 4.3 touchpanels for voting instead of a keypad. I did notice however, that the TP graphics for the 8.4 inch panel resolution does not include the initial page flips to test the panel at the office. So I went ahead and included some to get started. Guess I'll probably have to take them back out when the Program gets put in the master. All in all, the voting software is fairly easy to use at best. I would love to have the literature updated, but i suppose that might cost too much compared to how often this software is sold. I just figured for 7K it might be up to date.
