Novara CP 1008 and Christie

I have a Novara CP1008 and a Christie LX650 that I can't get to talk. I've tried:
sending it power on "43,30,30,0D" and power off "43,30,31,0D"
jumped the RTS/CTS pins on the projector end
tx is connected to pin2
ground is connected to pin 5
baud is set to 19200 also tried 9600
The serial cable is good and hooked directly from the CP1008 to the projector ~3ft...and I get no response from the projector. I had the same problem with the LX65 but I don't remember what I did to fix the problem on an NI-4000. Anyone know of a way I can check the serial port on the projector?
Thanks,
~chris

Assuming you have the protocol set to HEX in the DCS software.
If that works then the projector is set to ECO mode and the serial port is disabled until power on state.
Here are some commands that should work
