NI-3100 I/O LED

Hey Guys,

I've got a NI-3100 that seems to have a problem, the first 4 led of the I/O is permanetly ON, I've tryed to upgrade the firmware again to the last version (it was already the last version) but the situation is the same.

Anyone have got Ideas

Thanks a Lot

    What has happened to me once is that there was a short on I/O 1, which caused the first four I/O LEDs to light up, hence the question :)

    A short between I/O 1 and gnd coused the first four LED light on??? I think that i not undertand.

    I think that if the I/O chip is broken all the first 4 IO or the second four IO suks because of the I/O Chip is conntected to 4 I/O and in the 3100 we have 2 I/O Chip

    If you have nothing connected the I/O LED will light if the input is set to ACTIVE HIGH instead of ACTIVE LOW.

    Try sending this command from Control a Device and see if the input 1 LED turns off:

    Device = 5001
    Port = 17
    System = whatever your system number is

    Command to send:
    SET INPUT 1 LOW

    If the Input 1 LED turns off then rinse and repeat for inputs 2-4.

    They are TTL inputs, and easy to burn out. I suspect that is what happened.
