Somfy RS485 ILT Link

Has anyone used the Somfy RS485 Link for controlling ILT motors? Im having a heck of a time trying to get some screen motors to work. I have wired the NI3100 port to Rs485, set baud settings, in accordance with mfr recommendation and still can't comtrol the motors.

With pins 1-9 and 4-6, jumpered and I have have the A siginal from the motor controller going to pin 4 on the NI31000, and have the B signal wired to pin 1 on the db9 connector.

When is press the wall switches for the screens I get a hex string back through the Ni controller, Try and send a command string to the screen motors I get noting from the device and it's not doing the command.

Note the command string is copy/past from the Somfy code generator, but don't seem to work. Somfy Tech support says it should be working fine.

Has anyone used Somfy products

Thanks

Brian

I haven't used the ILT before, but usually the RS485 issues are related to cabling and port initialization. Did you enable the NI controller port for RS485?
    SEND_COMMAND dvRS485, "'SET BAUD 9600,N,8,1 485 ENABLE'"

Also here's the NI Controller pinout to try to get your ILT wired properly.

And by the way, I would also try reversing A-B to see if that will work.

    Thanks John,

I did have to reverse the cables and wire is A - B , Baud is set to 4800, O,8,1, Enable 485

But the motors are still not activating. I'll try to get ILT protocol documents from Somfy

I had major issues with Somfy, both cable length and baud rate... a baud rate (4800) that worked on the bench (short cable) wouldn't work on site (15m cable or less). In the end I swapped to contact closures as I couldn't get anything working reliably,
