what is needed for Canon LV proj upgrade?

We just upgraded from a Canon LV-7355 to a Canon LV-7380 in a conference room. The old projector was controlled at the rack by RS232 code loaded on an AMX NI-700 controller. The old Canon had an 8 or 9 pin DIN connector for the control cable. The new Canon has a 9-pin VGA-looking service port input. Our bench tech rewired the pins, but the new projector is not responding to simple 'send' or 'receive' to power on. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks.

Hi Margaret, there are a few things that could be causing you issues. First of all check that the control protocols for the two device are the same. I haven't used the Canon projects so can't help you with that but someone else on the forums may be able to shed some light on the matter (if all else fails read the manual). Secondly check that the baud rate of the new projector is the same as the old one. And thirdly, if you're still not having any luck double check the control cabling.

Also, its generally good practive to refrain from posting the same question multiple times within the one forum.
