R2 remote code capture?

Is it possible to track what rf code is being sent out from an r2? One died recently, and I didn't do the project. The client isn't interested in buying a new r2, they would like to use a spare mx900 they have laying around. I know the codes are in the database, but I was hoping I could watch something like netlinx diagnostics to see what ir or rf codes are being sent/received, so that I can duplicate them with the mx900. Is this possible?

The rf codes sent by the R2 are codes 1 through 256 (although it does not use them all). This is just like the R1, or a keypad. The mapping of the buttons is documented in the installation guide for the R units. That is, PLAY is button (code) 1 IF the source 1 register is active, 41 if the second, etc. Messy but documented.
  • You can also go into the R2 setup, and press 4. This turns on the channel debug. After than, the display will tell you which code is being sent.
