NI-3000 CMOS

Ok, so I bought a NI-3000 on EBAY recently. Getting it home and on the bench I learned that security had been enabled for all access functions except ICSP, and the default password had been changed to something the previous owner only knows. To make a long story short, I could not retrieve the password, so I'm pretty much dead in the water now. This being said, I opened up the controller and took the board out, flashed the CMOS chip, in hopes that it would drop the old password out of the onboard memory; but now, after all that, the box wont boot at all. It will initialize VxWorks; I can see it on the network via open FTP port, but it will not boot the AMX OS/firmware from the compact flash. The NI board just continually flashes the service mode led and the front input indicator light stays solid orange. And that's as far as she goes.

Anybody out there have any words of advice other than send it to AMX service? Can this unit be recovered?

have you tried loading a fresh image to the flash card?

If you can still connect on port 1319, you can try a firmware update. That should fix the boot problem, though it won't clear any passwords. Personally, I would have sent it direct to AMX in the first place, they have always been good about such things and not charging an arm and a leg for it with me ... but I do have a Gold dealer agreement with them, not sure how much that affects it.

I've been told the SERVICE LED is also called the "RMA Light" . . . gotta call it in. I had this happen to me when I bought an NI-2000.

No, I haven't tried loading a fresh image. DO you happen to have one?
