BACnet - Modbus Master

Hello,
I would like to control a HVAC System that uses the BACnet protocol, through a Modbus Master Bridge of Alerton. I use the Modbus module of AMX but I cannot write anything to the Registers. I can just read the changes made to them. I believe that the problem is that NI and Modbus are both "Master" and I would prefer the Modbus to be Slave. So is there any way to write anything to its registers with this module? Or should I buy another modbus or bacnet bridge??
Any ideas would be really helpful...

It's a gateway where an adress table is generated, and so messages are pretty simple on RS232 side, just a packet like "<tableIndex>,<value>" for transferring values from/to Bacnet.
I can't give any further support to it as it is 3rd party, but I know that it is running well in several installations.
This was really really helpful!! Thanks a lot for your reply, I appreciate it.
Best Regards,
Panos.
