Pronto & Nevo No More

Just read in CEPro mag that the Philips Pronto and UEI's Nevo will no longer be produced. I wonder what other over priced remotes will be next? :)

    I've known of this for a while since I have a customer who wanted another, and I couldn't get my hands on one until I found a rep willing to give up his demo. And the only reason this customer has it at all is because of the pre-built UI for Escient and ReQuest available for Prontos. It's just not the kind of thing I can charge a customer to develop, and we couldn't talk him into an AMX. But for just about every other use, I've found the Universal remotes to be better anyway. I tried RTI and didn't like it much, but others have told me good things about it. That market is simply flooded.
